Bhubaneswar, May 19: Union Home Minister Amit Shah lauded the Odisha Police for successfully achieving a Naxal-free status in the state during a special event held in Jagdalpur on Monday.
Speaking at the program, Shah acknowledged the relentless efforts and dedication of the police force in tackling left-wing extremism and restoring peace in previously affected areas.
The recognition was particularly aimed at officers who played a pivotal role in anti-Naxal operations. DGP Y. B. Khurania and ADG (Anti-Naxal Operations) Sanjeeb Panda received a memento from the Home Minister in honor of their leadership and the collective accomplishments of the force.
Shah emphasized that Odisha’s success serves as a model for other states facing similar challenges and highlighted the importance of strategic planning, intelligence-led operations, and strong coordination with local communities in combating extremism.
