
Chhatrapur, September 22: Adani Foundation, in collaboration with VisionSpring Foundation launched a Vision Care Programme to promote early detection and care of eye-related problems in the peripheral villages of Gopalpur Port.
The initiative includes free eye check-ups and distribution of high-quality spectacles to community members.
The programme was formally inaugurated at a special camp organised at the Kalyan Mandap in Kanamana Panchayat near Gopalpur Port. Prashant Kumar Patra, Business Head of Gopalpur Port graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the camp along with many local representatives.
As part of the Vision Care Programme, trained eye specialists are conducting advanced eye examinations to detect cataracts, diabetes-related eye ailments, and eye injuries. Quality spectacles are being distributed free of cost to beneficiaries. In addition, experts are providing guidance on nutrition for healthy vision, eye care practices, and safe use of electronic devices.
Through this initiative, Adani Foundation has set a target of covering around 3,000 beneficiaries during the current financial year with eye check-ups and free spectacles. Special focus will also be given to school students, with dedicated eye camps to be organised across various schools.
Sharing her experience, B. Lakshmi from Kanamana village expressed gratitude and said, “I used to face discomfort while reading small print in books like the Bhagavad Gita. Today, my eyes were tested and I received spectacles free of cost. I sincerely thank Adani Foundation for bringing such a health camp close to our village.
