Puri, Nov 7: The Shri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) on Friday suspended three temple servitors for their unruly conducts.

While, disciplinary action was initiated against two servitors for extracting money from devotees and indulging in fights over sharing the tips , another one was suspended for using vegetable ghee in the Shri Mandir rituals breaching temple's standard guidelines.

According to the SJTA sources, Suara Badu Sevayat Narayan Panda and Khuntia Sevayat Rajaram Khuntia were put under suspension for a period of 2-month for illegally collecting money from pilgrims and engaging in fights over the share.

Similarly, Mahasuar Sevayat Bena Mahasuar was suspended for two months for promoting use of vanaspati ghee inside the temple premises, the SJTA stated.

The SJTA has warned of extension in the disciplinary action if their unruly behaviour yet continues during the suspension term.
