Bhubaneswar, November 6: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast indicating a period of predominantly dry weather across Odisha for the upcoming week, with a significant drop in minimum temperatures expected after two days.

According to the midday weather update released on Thursday, no major weather systems are currently influencing the region. The report also noted that shallow fog was observed in some inland areas, particularly in Sundergarh and Kalahandi, while the rest of the state remained dry.

Temperature readings varied across the state, with Paralakhemundi experiencing the highest maximum temperature at 34.2°C. In contrast, Phulbani recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 13.0°C. The IMD highlighted a noticeable temperature drop of around 4°C in parts of South Coastal Odisha.

The weather outlook for the coming week remains largely stable, with one exception:

November 6-7: Light rain is expected at one or two locations in South Odisha.

November 8-13: Dry conditions will prevail across all districts of Odisha.

As for the nighttime temperatures, residents should prepare for a gradual decline. The IMD clarified that there would be no significant change in minimum temperatures for the next two days. However, after that, temperatures are expected to dip by 2°C to 3°C over the following three days, marking the onset of cooler nights.

In Bhubaneswar, the forecast for the next 24 hours predicts fog or mist during the morning hours, clearing up to a mostly clear sky later. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 33°C and 17°C, respectively.
