Patna, Jan 9: Fear gripped the various area and surrounding villages under the Patna police limits of the Keonjhar, as an elephant wreaked havoc, causing massive destruction to paddy and other standing crops. During the night, the elephant destroyed numerous banana, mango, and jackfruit trees, as well as rice fields, by consuming them.

In Chinamalipasi village, two houses were damaged, while in Kashia village, another two houses were destroyed. Additionally, in the Patna Range, a herd of elephant broke into four houses, causing significant damage. The damage caused by these elephants has left locals terrified and in a state of fear.

In the Kireitangiri section, a group of 25 elephants continued to wreak havoc, destroying standing crops and causing widespread panic among villagers. The damage to agricultural lands has further intensified concerns among the affected residents, who now fear further damages and attacks.

This unusual elephant behavior has raised alarm among local authorities, who are taking measures to control the situation and ensure the safety of the villagers.
