IMD predicts heavy rainfall in Odisha on September 5

Bhubaneswar, September 3: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy rainfall across Odisha on September 5, following the formation of a fresh low-pressure area over the west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal.

 The IMD has issued a Yellow Warning for several districts, including Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Ganjam, Gajapati, and Kalahandi. These regions are expected to experience heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.

 In response to the forecast, the state government has instructed district administrations to remain vigilant and prepared for any potential impacts.
