Bhubaneswar, April 7: Odisha is likely to witness a dip in temperature from today due to rainfall forecasted on April 7 and 8.
The India Meteorological Department has predicted light rain/thundershower at one or two places over Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati on Sunday and dry weather for the rest districts of Odisha.
Similarly, light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of north Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of south Odisha on Monday.
The IMD also predicted hailstorm at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Jajpur and Cuttack during this period.
Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Ganjam and Kalahandi on April 9.
As many as eight people in Bhubaneswar have been hospitalised with heat-related illnesses due to severe heat in the state, Director of Public Health Dr Niranjan Mishra informed.
