Bhubaneswar, Aug 8: The regional Meteorological Department in Bhubaneswar has issued an alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall across several parts of Odisha on Thursday.
According to the IMD, more rain is expected over the next 24 hours. Under the influence of low pressure, the state will experience increased rainfall until August 11. There is also a possibility of more rain in the upper reaches of the river due to the potential low pressure.
An orange warning has been issued for seven districts in Odisha due to the anticipated heavy rain. The districts under this alert are Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Deogarh, Koraput, and Nabarangpur.
Additionally, a yellow warning has been issued for 16 districts due to heavy rain. Among these, Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sonepur, and Bolangir districts have been particularly highlighted for heavy rainfall.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions.
