Bhubaneswar: Kalinga Institute of Social Science (KISS) girls team representing India emerged champion of the Asia School Rugby 7s 2026 took place from January 10-11 at the Dhupatemiya Royalal Thai Air Force Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, with schools from Laos, Malaysia, Pakistan, Chinese Taipei, India, and the hosts were participated.

 

In the women’s category, Rajaprachanukroh 66 School (Narathiwat), Triam Udom Suksa School (Surat Thani), Phonesavanh School (Laos Naga), Bunga Raya 7s (Malaysia) and Kalinga Institute of Sports Science (India) were the five teams participated in the round-robin format with the top two advanced to the final. KISS girls emerged champion by defeating host Thailand.  The boys team finished fifth.  

 

The 14 member KISS India Boys’ Team is led by Bidyadhar Majhi, Captain, along with Jasobanta Kumura, Coach and Kandan Murmu, Manager. Similarly, the 14 member KISS India Girls’ Team is being led by Mamali Singh Captain along with Hirano Mikinori, Coach, and Nirmalya Rout, Manager.
