Dubai, Sep 4: India's Ravindra Jadeja continued to top the ICC Rankings for Test Allrounders.
Former England skipper and their batting mainstay Joe Root consolidated his position at the top after hitting tons in both innings of the second Test against Sri Lanka at Lord's.
Root scored 143 and 103 in the Lord's Test. Empowered by his twin tons, England beat Sri Lanka by 190 runs to take a winning 2-0 lead in the series.
With his splendid show against visitors Sri Lanka, Root gained 41 rating points to increase his lead over Kane Williamson to 63 points. Root was at 922 rating points, just one shy of his career best of 923 that he had reached in July 2022.
India captain Rohit Sharma was at sixth spot in the latest ICC Test Rankings for Batsmen. His teammates Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli were at the next two spots.
In the batting rankings, the positions from three to five have been taken by Darryl Mitchell of New Zealand, Steve Smith of Australia and Harry Brook of England.
India's Ravindra Jadeja continued to top the all-rounders' list. England fast bowling all-rounder Gus Atkinson with his maiden first-class century (118) in Lord's Test and five-wicket haul moved up to 17th in the all-rounders list. He also jumped up to 96th in the ranking for batters and moved up to 28th spot in bowling.
