Angul, June 24: In another case of human-animal conflict, a Gaja Sathi was killed after being attacked and crushed by an elephant in Odisha’s Angul district.
The incident occurred near Katada village in Angul District. The deceased was identified as Jugal Nayak.
Sources said, Jugal had gone to the area after learning about the elephant's presence, intending to drive it away. The attack resulted in the individual's death.
The local authorities are investigating the incident and have urged residents to remain cautious in areas where elephants are known to roam.
The incident sent panic among villagers and they demanded necessary compensation for the kin of the deceased.
