Bhubaneswar, August 15: The Housing & Urban Development Department has baged the second prize for its innovative tableau on urban mobility and last mile connectivity during the State-level Independence Day celebrations in Bhubaneswar.
Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary and Dr. N. Thirumala Naik, Managing Director, Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) received the award from Chief Minister Mohan charan Majhi.
The tableau depicted the Department’s vision for sustainable, inclusive, and efficient urban transport—integrating modern public transit with green mobility and improved last-mile connectivity for citizens.
First Prize: Handloom, Textiles & Handicrafts Department for their presentation of ‘GI Tagged Products’.
Second Prize: Housing and Urban Development Department for showcasing ‘Urban Mobility in City Regions’.
Third Prize: Commerce and Transport Department for their depiction of ‘Multimodal Transport’.
Impressive participation by armed forces and civil societies
Among the participating platoons were units from the 120 Battalion, Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Special Operations Group (SOG) Chandaka, and Andhra Pradesh Armed Police Force. These were accompanied by spirited participation from various schools of Bhubaneswar, including NCC (National Cadet Corps), Scouts and Guides, and Red Cross contingents.
