Jagatsinghpur, Nov 4: In a disturbing incident, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in Sudan has reportedly abducted an Indian national from the city of Al Fashir, located about 1,000 kilometers from the capital, Khartoum.

The kidnapped individual has been identified as 36-year-old Adarsh Behera from Jagatsinghpur district. Behera has been working in Sudan since 2022 with a company called Sukarati Plastic Factory.

Details of the abduction have yet to be ascertained, but reports suggest that Behera was abducted in Al Fashir, a city in the Darfur region of Sudan. While his current location remains unknown, it is feared that the RSF may have taken him to Nyala, a known stronghold of the militia and the capital of South Darfur in southwest Sudan.

The situation is further complicated by the ongoing violent conflict in Sudan, where clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the RSF have been escalating since 2023. As a result, the region has become increasingly unstable, making it difficult to confirm the whereabouts of the abducted individual.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, and further details about Behera's kidnapping and efforts to secure his release are awaited.
