Berhampur, Jan 16: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out multiple raids across Ganjam district on Thursday, targeting prominent political figures and businessmen. Among those raided was BJD leader Hrushikesh Padhi. A three-member ED team conducted the operation near Sheragada Bypass and at Padhi’s residences in Sheragada and Berhampur, where his son Sachin Padhi also resides.

In Sheragada, the ED reportedly raided Padhi’s private residence, petrol pump, and TVS showroom. Simultaneously, the team visited his son’s home in Ambikanagar, Berhampur.

Apart from Padhi, BJP leader and liquor businessman Bhagaban Sahu was also targeted. ED teams raided his house in Asika Sandhinua Palli village, his liquor shop, and seven other associated properties. A separate team conducted a raid in Hinjili.

While raids have been reported across multiple locations in Ganjam, the ED has not disclosed the exact reason for the operations. Sources suggest the raids may be linked to alleged illegal assets, but official confirmation is pending.
