Khordha, Oct 14: A home guard was arrested after he was caught smuggling liquor and firecrackers, which were seized from different places, from the police station in Begunia of Khordha district.
The home guard identified as Prakash Muduli was arrested along with the drive of the vehicle in which seized firecracker and liquor were being transported.
As per reports, Begunia police has seized a huge cache of firecrackers from the Kantabada village during a raid. On the same day in another incident, the police seized liquor from a vehicle involved in a series accident near the Mini stadium. One person was killed in the mishap.
However, Muduli was caught by the locals while he was smuggling the seized firecracker and liquor. Locals also created a ruckus alleging police’s involvement in the smuggling of seized items.
Further investigation in the case is being conducted by Additional SP and SDPO rank officer.
