New Delhi, February 3: The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day on Tuesday after continued disruptions by opposition members during the Budget Session, resulting in chaos and the suspension of several Members of Parliament. The uproar began during the speech of Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. Tensions escalated when some Congress MPs reportedly threw papers toward the Chair, further disrupting the proceedings.

The disturbances led to repeated interruptions, hindering the flow of discussions. In response, the Speaker named and suspended six Congress MPs for the rest of the session. The suspended MPs include Hibi Eden, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, Manickam Tagore, Gurjeet Singh Aujla, Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, Prashant Padole, S. Venkatesan, and Dean Kuriakose.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) condemned the incident and announced plans to file a formal complaint with the Speaker, urging stringent action against the MPs involved.

Earlier, during his speech, Rahul Gandhi made several serious allegations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Gandhi accused the Prime Minister of being "compromised" and of "selling the country" through the recently finalized India-US trade deal. Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, he remarked, "Modi ji is rattled. The trade deal, which had been stalled for months, was signed by him last night. There is immense pressure on him, and his image is at stake. The fact is, our PM is compromised. The public needs to think about this." He added, "For the first time, the Leader of the Opposition was not allowed to speak on the President's speech."

Gandhi further criticized Modi for allegedly "selling" India’s interests through the trade deal, stating, "Modi ji has sold your hard work in this trade deal because he is compromised. He has sold the country. He is scared because the people who shaped his image are now working to dismantle it."

When questioned about why he believes Modi is "compromised," Rahul Gandhi pointed to an alleged case involving Gautam Adani, the Chairman of the Adani Group, in the US, along with the Epstein files. He claimed, "There is a case against Adani ji in the US, which is essentially a case against Modi ji. The Epstein Files contain even more information that the US has not yet released. There is pressure due to that as well. These are two significant pressure points, and the country must understand this."

The controversy comes on the heels of the India-US trade deal, which reduced tariffs on Indian exports to 18% from the previous 25%. However, the Congress has raised concerns, demanding complete transparency regarding the trade agreement. They have questioned several aspects of the deal, including the potential opening up of the agriculture sector, the possibility of reducing tariffs to "zero," and a possible halt on the purchase of Russian oil, as claimed by former US President Donald Trump.

Rahul Gandhi’s remarks also echoed his earlier references to an unpublished memoir by former Army Chief General MM Naravane, which discusses border tensions with China. Gandhi claimed to have authenticated the details of the article.
