​​​​​​​Balasore, Dec 19: While Odisha’s Balasore area is under the eagle’s eye of police & Excise officials for rampant peddle of white drugs; an antisocial recently fled from an Aahar Centre leaving his pistol to evade police.

The pistol however was seized by some courageous locals, endangering their lives, the Balasore police remains clueless yet following the sensitive incident.

The police seized the firearm from the daring people after the miscreant jumped off the Aahar Kendra boundary-wall despite massive public outage and interference at the public food facility.

According to reports, a panic gripped the Soro medical premises under the Soro police after a youth was spotted with a pistol. The youth had reportedly queued up to have his lunch at the Aahar Centre tucking a pistol inside his trousers.

On being aware of it, the security personnel deployed at the lunch station informed it to the facility crews who inquired the miscreant of the firearm. Anticipating police action, the youth endeavored to escape from the spot jumping off the wall. Meanwhile a man snatched the pistol from him forcefully and tried his best to hand him over to police, but in vain.

On being informed, the police rushed to the spot, seized the pistol from the Aahar Center and intiated an investigation into the matter.

The Police find no clue regarding the suspicious youth so far, said sources.
