Hit by vehicle, Leopard killed while crossing road in Ganjam

Bhanjanagar, Aug 9: In a tragic incident, a five-year-old leopard was killed in a road accident in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Tuesday night. It was found that the leopard lying in the middle of the road bleeding profusely.

The leopard was hit by an unknown vehicle when the animal was crossing the road near Mujagarh village in the North Ghumusar forest division in the district. 

Being informed, forest officials reached the spit and started an investigation into the matter.

“We will register a case under the relevant sections of the Wildlife Protection Act and action will be taken accordingly,” an official said.
