Cuttack, Nov 15: The Bali Yatra, a historic trade fair, is set to commence today on the banks of the Mahanadi River, marking the largest such event in Eastern India. The Chief Minister will inaugurate the festival at 5 pm. This year, 12 ambassadors from different countries have been invited as guests to give the event an international flavor.
The ambassadors will arrive on four well-decorated boats from the Mahanadi Silver City Boat Club and will witness the Bali Yatra celebration from the water.
Additionally, a new pavilion will be established to showcase the cultures of eight Southeast Asian countries. Artists from eight different states will perform traditional dances and songs at the Vaishnava Water Stage and Akshaya Mohanty Stage every evening.
The Bali Yatra will be held from November 15 to November 22. A total of 2,500 stalls, have been set up for this event. Various regional and household products will be available at the Ormas and National Gandhi Craft Market. Numerous stalls representing different states will offer delicious food to visitors.
Moreover, the riverbank will host a range of attractions, including a laser show, drone show, water sports, and a kite festival. This year, the drone show will feature 400 drones. Visitora will also have the chance to engage with various games and immersive experiences.
