Bhubaneswar, January 19: Odia jatra artist Piyush Tripathy visited the Sri Jagannath Temple in Puri to seek blessings from Lord Jagannath amid legal challenges impacting his stage career. Tripathy faces a legal dispute with the Surya Mandir Opera troupe, which has filed a breach of contract case against him, leading to a court order temporarily barring him from performing.

After praying at the temple, Tripathy said that Lord Jagannath would resolve the controversy. He remains hopeful of returning to the stage with the support of his audience and divine blessings.

The case, filed by Surya Mandir Opera, claims Tripathy violated an agreement by joining a rival troupe. Tripathy denies any contractual ties with Surya Mandir and asserts his commitment to Singhbahini Opera.

The court reserved its judgment on January 14, and a decision is expected soon.

Meanwhile, the interim stay on his performances remains in place.

If the restriction is lifted, Tripathy plans to return to the stage.
