Balangir, Aug 10: A day after a teacher in Bhadrak district was suspended for furnishing a fake BEd certificate, another teacher of Odisha’s Balangir district was detained by police for submitting fake educational certificates for the job.
According to the information, the accused has been identified as Manmayee Panda. She has been working as a Hindi teacher for the last 10 years at a High School under Puintala block of the district. However, during scrutiny, it was found that she had submitted a fake educational certificate.
Following the incident, the District Education Officer (DEO) of Balangir lodged a complaint against the teacher with the police. The DEO has also lodged a complaint against another four teachers for furnishing fake documents to secure the job.
“Based on the complaint, we have detained the accused teacher for interrogation. Strict action will be taken against them if they are found guilty. Further investigation is on to ascertain where they get fake certificates”, said police.
Worth mentioning, the authorities are undertaking the complete scrutiny of the documents submitted by teachers in the district after a fake certificate racket was busted in the city.
