Mumbai, Sept 19: Singer and music composer Himesh Reshammiya's father, renowned music director Vipin Reshammiya, passed away on September 18, 2024, at 8:30 PM. He was 87 years old and had been hospitalized at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai due to breathing issues and age-related health problems.
The Reshammiya family shared a heartfelt statement: "It is with profound grief that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father, Shri Vipin Reshammiya. A kind soul with a heart full of love, his presence lit up the lives of all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, wisdom, cherished memories, and timeless music." Vipin's final rites will be held on September 19 at 11:30 AM at Oshiwara Crematorium in Mumbai.
Vipin Reshammiya was known for his contributions to films such as the 1988 release Insaf Ki Jung, the 2014 film The Xpose, which featured his son Himesh in the lead role, and Teraa Surroor.
Himesh Reshammiya, who began his career as a music composer, made his acting debut in the 2007 film Aap Kaa Suroor. He has aslo served as a judge on popular singing reality shows,including Indian Idol,Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge, Sur Kshetra and Music Ka Maha Muqqabala. In addition to his work as a singer, Himesh is a composer, sing writer, producer and actor with notable films like Karzzz, Radio, Kajraare, Damadamm!, Khiladi 786, and Teraa Surroor to his credit.
