High-level security in place ahead of PM Modi’s visit to Odisha

Bhubaneswar, June 17: A high-level security review was held on Tuesday at the office of the Director of Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar, in preparation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Odisha on June 20.

 

Top officials from Bhubaneswar, including representatives from the Commissionerate Police and the Fire Services Department, attended the meeting to ensure tight security and smooth logistics for the Prime Minister's visit.

 

Following the meeting, senior administrative and police officials conducted a detailed inspection of Janata Maidan - the key venue for the public event. Odisha Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena and Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari also visited the site to oversee the ongoing preparations.

 

Security has been heightened across Bhubaneswar in anticipation of the Prime Minister's arrival. Multiple layers of security and traffic arrangements are being implemented to ensure public safety and an uninterrupted itinerary.

 

According to the official schedule, Prime Minister Modi will land at Biju Patnaik International Airport at 3:40 PM. He will then lead a roadshow from 3:45 PM to 4:15 PM, which will begin at the airport and conclude at Janata Maidan.

 

Following the roadshow, PM Modi will attend a public gathering at Janata Maidan from 4:15 PM to 5:30 PM. This event will mark the first anniversary of the BJP government in Odisha. During the program, the Prime Minister is expected to unveil the party's ‘Vision Document’ for the state's future development.

 

PM Modi will then return to Biju Patnaik International Airport and is scheduled to depart for New Delhi at approximately 5:50 PM.

 

Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with the security protocols in place and expect traffic restrictions along the roadshow route and around the Janata Maidan area.
