Boudh, April 15: A teacher named Govardhan Pradhan from Tribal High School in Kantamal constituency, Odisha, has been transferred to Mathura Panchayat High School in Boudh constituency due to allegations of engaging in political activities.

The transfer was ordered by the District Collector, who is also the District Election Officer, following an inquiry into the accusations. Pradhan has been instructed to join his new post immediately.
Worth noting, earlier Sanghamitra Mallik, a teacher at Government Nodal High School in Dahya, Boudh district, was suspended for joining a political party's rally and procession during an election campaign.

The Boudh Collector and District Election Officer took disciplinary action against Mallick for breaching the Election Commission of India's model code of conduct. The suspension, effective immediately, was imposed under the Odisha Government Servant’s Conduct Rules, 1959, and the ECI's order from March 15, 2024.
This order prohibits government servants from affiliating with political or communal entities or participating in related activities.
