Angul, August 8: A differently-abled youth on Tuesday appealed to the Angul District Collector to help him find a life partner.
The divyang, identified as Sanjiv Mohapatra from the Nuapada village under the Chhhendipada Block limit, sought the DM’s assistance to get a suitable match for him.
The unprecedented incident took place in the weekly grievance hearing forum, held at the Chhendipada Panchayat Samiti office.
Sources said that the courtyard of the Chhendipada block was overcrowded today wherein people were standing in a queue to put forth their grievances before the Collector & DM. Meanwhile, one divyang youth named Sanjiv treaded to surpass the congregation and thronged the grievance cell with the help of the office Orderly.
On being allowed into the court, Sanjiv expressed his ordeal before the Collector Sidharth Shankar Swain regarding his sufferings, how painfully he spends life as a single. He opened up about his personal life before a number of district-level officers and said that he is keen to marry. However, he finds no match for him, despite a frantic attempt by him and the parents, to get a suitable bride for him.
The all-new grievance raised by the youth and the outspoken attitude he showed to fulfil his social need, put the district panel and the gathering in a daze.
