Bhubaneswar, Sep 13: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall across Odisha in the next 3-4 days. The IMD also issued Red alert for six Odisha districts.
The IMD regional centre, here predicted that due to prevalent monsoon trough and cyclonic circulation, several parts of Odisha are likely to receive heavy to extremely heavy rainfall.
As per the forecast, on Wednesday, thunderstorm and lightning are very likely to occur at one or two places in as many as 22 districts of the state. The districts that are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall are - Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Bolangir and Kandhamal, the IMD prediction revealed.
The other regions of India that may receive more rainfall in the next couple of days are - Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Vidarbha, the IMD predicted on Wednesday.
