The day after a substantial polling record staggering around 71 percent turnout in the first ever by-election in Odisha during the BJP regime, was sealed in the strongrooms amid utmost safty & security.

Meanwhile, the ruling BJP and the prime opposition BJD are claiming their stakes to win the Nuapada race, they have run to secure the esteemed chair. Opposition BJD’s Chief Whip Pramila Mallik, Political Affairs Committee member Tukuni Sahu, and student wing president Ipsita Sahu have however asserted that BJD is getting people’s mandate in Nuapada. Party candidate Snehangini Chhuria is winning the race despite all odds, false propaganda spread by the ruling BJP.
The Congress, meanwhile is hopeful that the party face & tribal icon, Ghasiram Majhi will score significantly for a thumping victory.

The bypoll was necessitated by the death of BJD MLA Rajendra Dholakia on 8 September.
