Heat Wave grips Odisha, IMD issues red alert 13 district

Bhubaneswar, Ap 29: Odisha continues to experience soaring temperatures on Monday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting a heat wave to persist for four days in various parts of the state. A red alert has been issued for eight districts, including Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Nayagarh, and Cuttack.
According to IMD, Baripada reported 36°C, followed by Balasore: 36°C, Malkangiri: 35°C, Keonjhar: 35°C, Bhawanipatna: 34.4°C, Bhubaneswar: 33.8°C, Jagatsinghpur: 33.4°C, Angul: 33°C, Boudh: 33°C, Titlagarh: 33°C, and Cuttack: 32.6°C
Similarly, an orange alert for heatwave has been issued for 13 locations, including Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Balasore, Rayagada, Malkangiri, and Koraput. The IMD has advised residents to avoid going outdoors between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm unless necessary. Pregnant women, individuals with heart conditions, young children, and the elderly are urged to take extra precautions.
