Bhubaneswar, Apr 18: Intense heat wave conditions prevailed in Odisha with four places recording temperature above 40 degree Celsius till 11:30 am today.
As per the Met department data, Bhubaneswar and Balasore sizzled at 40.6 degree Celsius followed by Chandbali and Jharsuguda with 40 degree Celsius.
The temperatures recorded at other places are as follows:
- Sambalpur: 39.7°C
- Keonjhar: 39°C
- Hirakud: 38.6°C
- Rourkela: 37.9°C
- Gopalpur: 35.1°C
- Puri: 34.5°C
- Paradip: 34.5°C
Earlier, the IMD had predicted temperature increases of 2 to 4 degrees Celsius in various areas of the state, with some regions anticipated to experience temperatures exceeding 45 degrees Celsius.
