Lucknow, July 9: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the Hathras stampede, which resulted in at least 121 deaths earlier this week, has submitted its findings to the Uttar Pradesh government. Led by Additional DG (Agra Zone) Anupam Kulshreshtha and Aligarh commissioner Chaitra V, the comprehensive report delves into all aspects of the incident. It includes suggestions and guidelines for future events of a similar nature in the state.
Following Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's prompt order for the SIT probe after the tragic incident, the report incorporates statements from 125 individuals. These include interviews with administrative officials, event organizers, and volunteers (sevadars), aiming to uncover the causes behind the stampede.
According to sources familiar with the report, it also highlights the political affiliations of 'Bhole Baba' and identifies several political leaders who were linked to him during elections and other relevant contexts.
