Angul, Feb 27: In another heart wrenching incident, a minor girl was allegedly raped & murdered in Odisha’s Angul district on Friday.

The horrific incident took place at a residential area under the NTPC Police limits.

While the police were in search of the missing girl, on a complaint lodged in this connection, the minor girl’s wounded body was recovered from a bushy mass near the village this morning.

According to report, the minor girl had gone missing a couple of days ago. Following an extensive attempts the parents were unable to find her out either in the village or nearby. Meanwhile, the body of the girl was spotted today by the locals at a secluded place near a residential area.

On being informed the police recovered the body from the spot and initiated an investigation. Following scientific examinations, the body was sent for post-mortem.

Further investigation is underway while senior police officers have visited the spot. Based on primary inputs, three persons have been detained for questioning, said sources.
