Bhubaneswar, March 8: Odisha Vigilance on Sunday arrested Pramod Kumar Ray, Assistant Executive Engineer of Derabish Irrigation Sub-Division under Kendrapara Irrigation Division on charges of for possession of disproportionate assets.
The development came a day after Ray was found in possession of disproportionate assets including, two-multi storeyed buildings - one at Bhubaneswar measuring around 8000 sqft and one at Choudwar measuring around 5200 sqft - two plots, Rs 4.48 lakh in cash, Rs 39.21 lakh deposits, which he could not explain satisfactorily.
The raids were conducted by the anti-graft wing on Saturday across several districts, including Kendrapara, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak and Bhubaneswar, following allegations that he possessed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Search operations were launched on the basis of warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack, as part of an investigation into suspected disproportionate assets.
“In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance PS case No.10/2026 under Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018 has been registered against Sri Pramod Kumar Ray, Asst. Executive Engineer, Derabish Irrigation Sub-Division under Kendrapara Irrigation Division,” said a Vigilance communique.
