Bhubaneswar, Nov 7: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday greeted people on the 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’, the national chant of every proud Indian.

He calls for keeping up unity and fraternity, being inspired by the essence of the great song of patriotism.

Taking to X, the CM said,”Today's this historic day is a moment of great resolve for us. The eternal chant "Vande Mataram" that inspired the dream of seeing India as an undividedpower, today marks its 150th year of completion. This is not merely a historic day; it is a day to remember the national resolve born from the sacrifices and renunciation of our ancestors.

Created by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, empowered by the voice of Guru Rabindranath Tagore, this song was a death-conquering mantra for our freedom fighters. This great mantra of patriotism brought a victorious smile to the scaffold for thousands of revolutionaries of the freedom struggle. When the British government tried to ban it, every thread of it had turned into a thunderbolt path for the Indians.

“At the call of Prime Minister Shri @Narendramodi , let us today remember the immortal story of this great song, and all of us pledge once again to dedicate our lives for the sovereignty and unity of our motherland.Vande Mataram! Victory to Mother India! Jai Hind! ,” the post added.
