New Delhi, February 5: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday emphasized India's growing influence on the global stage, highlighting the nation's recent trade agreements with major powers. In his address to the Rajya Sabha, he praised deals with the European Union and the United States, stating that the world is now recognizing India's role as a trusted partner.

"India is entering into future-ready trade agreements with several nations," PM Modi remarked, mentioning the recent deals with nine key countries, including the landmark agreement with the European Union. He assured the youth that these agreements would create new opportunities, benefiting both rural and urban populations.

The Prime Minister noted that the global community is increasingly confident in India's stability and growth, with the EU and US deals seen as key drivers of this optimism. "These agreements signal a positive change, promoting global stability and speed," he said.

PM Modi also criticized the Congress, saying the current government is focused on rectifying past mistakes and building a forward-looking strategy for the nation. He stressed that India's global trust is growing due to its emphasis on reforms and strategic governance.

Highlighting the rapid progress of the nation, the Prime Minister called the past year one of transformation and progress across all sectors of society. He also pointed to India's role as a trusted global partner, underscoring the country's steady march towards development.

During his speech, he took a light-hearted jab at opposition members, suggesting that Congress leader Kharge should sit while raising slogans to avoid discomfort due to his age.
