Vadodara, Aug 29: Gujarat floods have claimed at least 28 lives and more than 17,800 people have been rescued from water-logging and flooding zones in the state, as per official data on Thursday.
But India women's team left-arm spinner Radha Yadav can be troubled by Gujarat floods may stun many. She indeed was in trouble due to floods in Vadodara and has thanked the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) for coming to her rescue in time.
A video uploaded on her Instagram on Wednesday night revealed that the surrounding areas were submerged in water and rescue personnel were approaching on a raft. People were also seen wading through chest-deep water.
Radha is part of the India's 15-member team led by Harmanpreet Kaur, which would play the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 in Dubai and Sharjah, which begins on October 3.
As per the fixture, India are grouped with defending champions Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and New Zealand, and will play their opening game against New Zealand on October 4.
In the upcoming T20 World Cup, along with veteran off-spin bowling all-rounder Deepti Sharma and leggie Asha Sobhana, Radha Yadav is expected to play an important role in India's triple spin-attack in the tournament.
Radha is also known for her ability to use the long handle of the bat and hit huge sixes. She is a brilliant fielder at point and in the deep as well.
Radha being helped by the NDRF personnel in time is likely to assure her fans that the ace India cricketer is fine and is raring to go in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024.
