Gandhinagar, August 27: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Thursday announced a special Rs 28 crore development grant for constituencies represented by 14 women MLAs, with each legislator receiving Rs 2 crore.
Announced as a special Raksha Bandhan gift, the funds will be used for road and infrastructure projects based on local priorities. Nine of the constituencies are urban and five are rural.
The government said the grants would help address local infrastructure needs, improve connectivity and ease movement for residents.
Earlier, women from social organisations, charitable institutions, the Brahma Kumaris and groups working for persons with disabilities tied rakhis to CM Patel at Lok Bhavan in Gandhinagar and prayed for his good health and long life.
