Bhubaneswar: Nandankanan Zoological Park has welcomed 11 new animals from 5 different species as part of an animal exchange program with Indira Gandhi Zoological Park.

The animals arrived early Wednesday and are currently under quarantine, where veterinarians are conducting health check-ups. They will be released into their enclosures after 15 to 30 days.
The animal exchange program is aimed at improving genetic diversity, reducing inbreeding, and enhancing animal health. Authorities say the addition of Ring-tailed Lemurs will be a major attraction for tourists visiting Nandankanan.
