Raipur, December 13: Chhattisgarh Police have made a significant breakthrough in their anti-Maoist efforts near the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border.

During a combing operation in the forest area near Ambi village in Gariaband district, security forces uncovered a hidden stash of weapons and explosives.

The seized items included Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), detonators, firearms, wires, batteries, and medicines, indicating potential subversive plans by Maoists. Acting on intelligence, the CRPF launched a search operation, leading to the discovery of explosives, two single-shot guns, and other materials in the forest near the Odisha border.

The IEDs posed a serious threat, but following safety protocols, the explosives were destroyed on-site. This recovery underscores the ongoing vigilance of security forces in border areas and highlights the importance of continued operations in Maoist-prone regions.
