Group scuffle in Sambalpur over Puja donation: One dies

Sambalpur, Sept 16: A Puja Committee member died in Sambalpur on Saturday following a group scuffle over a collection of puja donations.

At least three others from both sides were hospitalized after the incident.

The deceased has been identified as Khirod Tandi, a resident of the Baijamunda village under the Burla police limit.

Sources said a group of the Ganesh Puja Committee was collecting donations from the locals of the AA-Katapali village. Meanwhile, a tug of war broke out between two groups wherein  Khirod Kandi was killed during a group clash.

On being informed the Burla Police rushed to the spot and controlled the situation. Subsequently, the body was seized and sent for post-mortem.
