Bhubaneswar, December 15: The Odisha Vigilance Department on Monday successfully confiscated a leopard skin and apprehended an individual allegedly involved in the illegal wildlife trade.
Following a tip-off, a team from the department's forest wing launched a raid in the Madhapur Forest Range, located in the Nayagarh-Athamalik area, where they recovered the leopard skin.
The arrested individual has been charged under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, officials confirmed.
