Gochapada Police destroy 152 acres of cannabis in operation “Neela Jahara”

Phulbani, Dec 29: As part of the annual “Operation Neela Jahara”, Gochapada police have destroyed cannabis plantations spanning 152 acres in forest lands near Kilupang and Badasangi villages of Jamjhiri Panchayat.

The operation, conducted under the supervision of District Police Chief and led locally by Gochapada Police Station Officer Chiranjib Behera, involved officials from the Forest, Police, and Revenue departments. A magistrate was present during the destruction.

The cannabis plants destroyed were estimated to be worth around ₹1 crore. A case has been registered at Gochapada Police Station regarding the incident, as reported by Officer Behera.

Police deployed a large security force to ensure the operation was carried out smoothly.
