Asika, Oct 21: Tension gripped Nirala village under Asika police limits in Ganjam district late Monday night after three members of a family were allegedly attacked by unidentified miscreants. The injured-identified as a father, his son, and his elder brother-sustained multiple injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for initial treatment.

Following preliminary care, all three victims were shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur for advanced medical attention.

Sources said the family was attacked in a suspected pre-planned assault, though the motive behind the incident remains unclear. Upon receiving information, Asika police reached the spot and have launched a detailed investigation.

While no arrests have been made so far, police officials confirmed that efforts are underway to identify the attackers and ascertain the reason behind the assault. Authorities believe more information will emerge as the investigation progresses.
