Mexico, Mar 10:Oscar-winning film The Revenant, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, is set to return to theatres this month to mark its 10th anniversary. 20th Century Studios announced on Monday that the film will be re-released on March 13, 2026.

“The Revenant returns to theaters this Friday, March 13,” the studio wrote on Instagram. Earlier reports confirmed the international re-release, including in the US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, and Mexico.

Directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu, The Revenant originally premiered in 2015, earning DiCaprio the coveted Academy Award for Best Actor for his physically and emotionally grueling portrayal of frontiersman Hugh Glass. DiCaprio described the role as “the most difficult film” he has ever undertaken, likening the experience to a “silent-movie performance,” according to Variety.

Based on true events, the film follows Glass as he survives harsh winter conditions, confrontations with Native Americans, and a near-fatal bear attack. Beyond the Oscar, The Revenant also received accolades at the Golden Globes, Critics’ Choice Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards, and BAFTA.

DiCaprio continues to be in the awards spotlight this year, vying for another Oscar at the 98th Academy Awards. Leading the nominations is Sinners with 16 nods. The Best Actor category features Timothée Chalamet (Marty Supreme), Leonardo DiCaprio (One Battle After Another), Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon), Michael B. Jordan (Sinners), and Wagner Moura (The Secret Agent).

The 98th Oscars are scheduled for March 15, 2026, with Conan O’Brien returning as host.
