Ajay Devgn narrates inspirational story of RSS foundation

Makers of the highly anticipated film Shatak have officially released the trailer today, offering audiences a deep dive into the century-long legacy of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Set for a nationwide theatrical release on February 20, 2026, the film promises to be a reflective journey through the history of one of India’s most significant organizations.

Superstar Ajay Devgn anchors the narrative, lending his powerful baritone voice to guide viewers through the film. The Shatak trailer suggests that this project goes beyond a standard documentary format. Instead, it focuses on the human element—tracing the convictions, struggles, and ideas of the individuals who have shaped the RSS since its inception.

The narrative takes the audience back to September 27, 1925, marking the foundation of the organization by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar. It explores how a modest volunteer movement evolved into a nationwide force. The film also delves into the ideological contributions of key figures like Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar, whose vision played a crucial role in steering the Sangh’s direction over the decades.

Speaking on his involvement, Ajay Devgn shared his thoughts on the organization’s centenary milestone. He described the 100-year mark not just as a passage of time, but as a symbol of sacrifice and commitment to nation-building. "Giving my voice to a narrative that speaks of resilience, faith, and collective purpose is an immensely meaningful experience," Devgn stated.

Directed by Aashish Mall and produced by Vir Kapur, the film is backed by Ada 360 Degree LLP in collaboration with Panorama. With its release just around the corner, the Shatak trailer has already sparked conversations about the role of the RSS in shaping India's cultural and national identity over the last hundred years.
