Keonjhar, Jan 17: In a major crackdown on illegal cattle trading, multiple teams of Keonjhar Police carried out coordinated raids at 46 locations on Friday. The operations targeted the residences of suspected cattle mafia members across several districts of Odisha.

In Keonjhar district, raids were conducted in areas including Santarapur, Kaliahata, Telkoi, Ghasipura, Turumunga and Jamujodi under Harichandanpur police limits. Simultaneous searches were also carried out in Bisoi, Karanjia, Jharpokhria, Tentoposhi, Chadheibhol, Kendrei and Thakurmunda in Mayurbhanj district, as well as in Korei of Jajpur district and parts of Bhadrak district.

The extensive operation was led by two Additional Superintendents of Police and involved five Deputy Superintendents of Police, 25 Inspectors, 36 Sub-Inspectors and Assistant Sub-Inspectors, along with 18 platoons of armed force.

Police sources said a substantial seizure of cash, vehicles and other properties is expected. The raids were ongoing at the time of filing this report, and detailed information will be shared after the operation concludes.
