​​​​​​​Bhubaneswar, Oct 18: Odisha Chief MinisterMohan Charan Majhi and his deputies, PravatiParida and KanakVardhanSinghDeo on Saturday extended heartfelt greetings to people on auspicious occasion of Dhanteras.

Extending his wishes on the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras, CM Majhi expressed hope that Lord Dhanvantari's blessings would bring happiness, peace, prosperity, and good health to every family in the state.

Taking to his official ‘X’ handle, CM Majhi wrote, “Heartfelt greetings and best wishes to everyone on the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras. May Lord Dhanvantari’s blessings bring happiness, peace, prosperity, and good health to every family in the state. May the grace of Goddess Lakshmi open new doors of success for our farmers, workers, women, and the youth.”

Deputy CMPravatiParida also extended her heartfelt greetings and prays to Lord Dhanvantari for everyone’s good health and long life.

“On the auspicious occasion of Dhanvantari Jayanti and Dhanteras, a day dedicated to health and prosperity, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to you all. Health is our most valuable wealth. On this sacred day, I pray to Lord Dhanvantari for your good health and long life,” she wrote in a post on ‘X’.

Similarly, Deputy CMKanakVardhanSinghDeo extended heartfelt greetings on the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras and offered salutations to Lord Dhanvantari, the deity of health, prosperity, medicine, and wealth.

Taking to his official ‘X’ handle, he shared a Sanskrit shloka followed by his message.

“OmNamoBhagavateMahasudarshanayaVasudevayaDhanvantaraye,AmritakalashaHastaayaSarvaBhayavinaashayaSarvaRoganivaaranaaya. Heartfelt greetings on the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras, a festival dedicated to the wish for health and prosperity. Salutations to Lord Dhanvantari, the deity of health, prosperity, medicine, and wealth,” read the post.

It is worth noting that ‘Dhanteras’ is dedicated to the worship of Siddhi Vinayak (another form of Lord Ganesha), Goddess Mahalakshmi, the deity of wealth, and Lord Kuber, the god of prosperity. The day is considered highly auspicious for making new purchases.

Dhanvantari, worshipped on the occasion of Dhanteras, is revered as the god of Ayurveda and is believed to have taught the principles of medicine to help humanity overcome illnesses.
