Bhubaneswar, Aug 4: Four pilgrims from Odisha's Keonjhar district, who were stranded in Kedarnath, Uttarakhand, after massive landslides caused by a cloudburst, were safely rescued by the Indian Army on Sunday.
"The four pilgrims from Odisha’s Keonjhar were rescued safely from Kedarnath. They will reach Haridwar railway station by road and commence their homeward journey," the Odisha government said in a statement.
The rescued pilgrims have been identified as Sadananda Sahu (35) from Jagmohanpur village, Kartik Khilar (44) from Saruali village, Maheshwar Pradhan (54) from Chandrashekharpur village under Telkoi police limits, and Rushinath Mahant (28) from Kempasada village under the jurisdiction of Sadar police.
