Bijapur, Ap 2: In an operation conducted by security forces in Bijapur district on Tuesday, the bodies of four Naxals were recovered along with the recovery of one LMG automatic weapon/BGL launcher and various other weapons.
The encounter took place at Lendra village in Bijapur around 6 am on Tuesday, following a joint search operation initiated on Monday night by the District Reserve Group (DRG), Special Task Force (STF), CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action), and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) from Gangalur police station area.
Inspector General of Police, Bastar Range, P Sundarraj, informed on Tuesday that the bodies of four Naxals were recovered after the encounter near Kendra-Korcholi forest in the Gangalur police station area of Bijapur district. Moreover, a light machine gun (LMG), barrel grenade launchers (BGL) launchers, and other arms and ammunition were also seized from the site.
The search operation is currently underway.
