Four Maoists shot dead by police forces in Odisha- Chhatishgarh border

Malkangiri, April 30: At least four hardcore Maoists were killed during an exchange of fire between the ultras and police in Chhatisgarh’s Narayanpur district bordering Malkangiri district of Odisha.
The cops have also seized a large quantity of Maoist materials and guns from the spot.
According to the report, an exchange of gunfire between police forces and Maoist insurgents was going on within the Abujhamad forest. The confrontation erupted during a police search operation.Four Maoists were killed as a result of the exchange. Worth mentioning, two Maoists were gunned down in an exchange of fire with the special operation group (SOG) of Odisha Police in Kandhamal district on April 24.
According to police sources, the exchange of fire took place in Parhel reserve forest under Kantamal police limits in Boudh after the SOG along with the district voluntary force spotted the Maoist camp during a combing operation.
State's Director, Inetelligence, Saumendra Priyadarshi revealed that bullets and other modern weapons were recovered and confiscated. He cautioned that the death toll could rise.. Reports indicated that over 20 KKBN militants had established a temporary base and were plotting a large-scale attack.
However, the alleged Naxal attack was successfully foiled due to the timely intervention of the security forces.
