Four arrested in Jharsuguda armed robbery, stolen items recovered

Jharsuguda, Aug 28: Airport police have arrested four persons in connection with an armed robbery that took place near Saletikra along the Biju Expressway in Jharsuguda district.

 

The accused have been identified as Manoj Barik (27) of Bandhbahal, along with Sunil Yadav alias Nanu (23), Suraj Pancham (19), and Shibam Paswan (20), all residents of Rampur, Brajrajnagar.

 

According to police, the arrests were made within 24 hours of registering the case (Airport PS Case No. 139 dated August 26, 2025) under multiple sections of the Arms Act.

 

The complainant, Ramu Kisan (35), a night watchman, had reported that he was attacked by three unidentified assailants around 1 am on August 25 while on duty. The attackers allegedly assaulted him, threatened him at gunpoint, and with a Bhujali (sharp weapon), before fleeing with his mobile phone and motorcycle.

 

Acting swiftly, police traced the suspects and recovered the stolen items, including the mobile phone and motorcycle. A motorcycle used in the crime, a pistol, and a Bhujali were also seized from their possession.
